About

The Pera Atelier is founded by me, Banu Dumanoglu, originally from Turkey and residing in the UAE since 2014. I adopted a Turkish Angora kitten as part of the family with my husband.

After working in the corporate world for more than 10 years, I decided to leave my comfort zone and follow the new path that excites me to create continuously. Every material and embroidery design is carefully selected by me to ensure that the products are of the highest quality.

During my childhood, I grew up in a large family of six, including my parents, two sisters, and one brother. I have always been exposed to DIY projects thanks to my parents. I regret not having learned to sew from my mom, who used to sew a lot of our clothes with a Singer machine. In only a few weeks after the pandemic hit, I purchased my very first sewing machine that had embroidery capabilities. After that, I found myself doing project after project with my little sewing machine, which gave me the peace I had been seeking for years.

Back in 2020, this was how the idea of Pera Atelier originated.

I wish my parents were here to see and be proud of me. The very fact that I miss them so much motivates me to keep going.
